The house relies substantially on passive solar principals. A double glazed conservatory space to the South elevation admits sunlight and solar gain, whilst an open plan with a central staircase creates a feeling of spaciousness whilst keeping cost down.

BASF House
The practice won a competition to design and experimental one off house constructed in the grounds of Nottingham University. The brief required us to produce a solution which could be reproduced as a terrace for approximately £70000 and which was sufficiently energy efficient to require no heating.
