A large glazed south facing atrium is a focal point to the house and maximizes sunlight and views. Externally earthy coloured render and timber cladding give the house a feel appropriate to its garden setting.
This house is being built within the garden of our client's parent's house, in order to allow her to care for them in their old age. The house has been designed to have the feel of a 'gate house' in order to reflect this. A pyramidal roof and overhanging eaves keeps the scale of the building appropriate despite it's proximity to the road.
