A derelict warehouse in Sheffield has been re-modelled to create modern office accommodation. The cost of the restoration was around two thirds of the cost of building new - our clients original intention. The re-use of the building is a more sustainable option which also preserves a part of Sheffield's industrial heritage

The key issue to resolve was the need to create good light levels at the back of the building, as it was joined to a larger steelworking shed along the full length of the rear wall. To achieve this we introduced roof glazing which, along with internal glass domes supported by a tensile fabric structure, flooded the first floor with light.
